Does it matter that I am self employed?

No. As long as you satisfy the criteria, you can apply.

What if I get a payrise that takes me over?

You are still entitled to a refund for overpaid tax in previous years. The tax code will automatically be adjusted for the current and future years.

What about overtime?

The tax allowance works on the overall yearly taxable income. You are entitled to a refund as long as you satisfy the criteria for the year.

What are your fees?

Do I have to apply every year?

Is there a cut off date?

There's no cut-off date but if you want to apply retrospectively to tax year 2017/18, you need to do so before 6 April 2022. Your tax code will automatically update for the remaining months of the current tax year.
